PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE (PPL)
This license is ideal for aviation enthusiasts or hobby flyers.
Requirements
- Age: Be at least 17 years old at the date of application. One can start training at 16.
- Education: Have passed 10th standard or equivalent
- Medical fitness: Have a Class II Medical Certificate from a DGCA-approved medical examiner
- Knowledge: Pass written exams in air regulations, navigation, meteorology, and aircraft and engines.
- Flying training: Complete a minimum of 40 hours of total flying, including 20 hours solo
Training
- Duration: 6 months for theoretical classes and flying training.
- Ground school training covers topics like air regulations, navigation, meteorology, and aircraft technical knowledge
Flying training focuses on general flying, emergency procedures, skill tests and as per DGCA requirements
