FLIGHT TRAINING ADELAIDE – INDIGO CADET PROGRAM

1. Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:
• Aged 18–35* years on Stage 1 of the testing/selection process
  A candidate becomes ineligible after reaching the age of 35.
• Indian National or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder (security clearance from the regulatory authority will be obtained by the OCI holder
  prior to registration forthe Cadet Pilot Program).
• Minimum academic qualifications: 10+2 with at least 51% in each English, Maths andPhysics
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Eligible to hold an Australian visa for the purposes of study
• Hold or eligible to hold, an Indian passport with the unrestricted right to live and work inIndia and travel worldwide
• Physically fit and healthy.

Note:

You will be required to hold an Indian (DGCA) Class 1 aviation medical prior to LOI signature. In addition, you will require an Australian (CASA) Class

1 aviation medical with no limitations on arrival at FTA. FTA will assist in making the necessary bookings for the CASA Class 1 medical tests. A stable body mass index (BMI) of less than 25 is required.

A minimum of an Indian (DGCA) Class II aviation medical will be required to attend the selection process, therefore, a DGCA Class II is required for FTA to accept your application.

A Class I aviation medical is required prior to IndiGo LOI signature or you will not be able to start on course, it is recommended that candidates complete the Class I as early as possible. Please advise FTA of any updates after application.

Eligibility with regard to your testing history

The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program has guidelines that apply to all FTOs involved. These guidelines dictate cooling off periods and maximum attempts that apply tocandidates  regardless of which FTO they choose to apply with, the following is abrief summary:

Stage 1 (academic tests and IndiGo approved aptitude test)

• Maximum of 2 attempts (total all FTOs)
• FTA may offer a second attempt – minimum 6-month cooling period.

Stage 2 (group activity)

• Maximum of 2 attempts (total all FTOs)
• Second attempt allowed with the same FTO — after a minimum coolingperiod of 6 months.

Stage 3 (personal interview)

• Maximum of 2 attempts (total all FTOs)
• Second attempt allowed — minimum 3 months cooling period FTA has designed a training program that requires travel for cadets in only two countries. The program has

Flying Training (210 hours):

• DA40 – 95 hours single-engine dual
• DA40 – 100 hours single-engine solo
• DA42 – 15 hours multi-engine dual

Simulator Training (40 hours):

• 30 hours DA40 simulator
• 10 hours DA42 simulator

Both campuses have been designed to cater for international students. The campuses are 30 minutes from the city centre. On campus all the training facilities are less than 5 minutes walking distance from student accommodation, including the learning resource centre.

Residential Facilities
• Student accommodation is located within the airport grounds with dedicated male or female accommodation units. Units house 4-6 students, each with a private bedroom         and study area, plus a shared lounge, kitchenette, laundrette and bathroom facilities.
• FTA provides a cleaning service once a week, which includes clean linen and towels. 

Recreational Facilities
• Fully equipped gymnasium, tennis courts, swimming pool (Adelaide only), basketball court, barbeque areas and a soccer pitch. 

Welfare Team
• The student welfare team consists of male and female staff that are on call 24/7.
